These Fast Hike Pants are superb. They run just a little big and are a little baggy around the legs. Thats not my favorite but its not too baggy that it is a problem. They are very comfortable and extremely well made and fortified with stretchy materials in all the right areas like the knees and shin guards. The hems have velcro cuffs like many alpinist jackets. I've never seen that on pants before...very cool. They also have two-way zippers on each leg that vent the full thigh to dump heat. Absolutely love that. I don't always need the venting (depending on the season and what activity I'm doing) so I sometimes store things in there like a little cash or something small like that. Lots of zippers, very nice looking, lots of compliments and they appear to be indestructible. I went back and got another pair in black, too. I'm very impressed with the Berghaus company in general. I also have one of their wintery jackets that is super well made, nice looking and with cool features, too. A+TAKE NOTE BERGHAUS!I'm becoming a little concerned about Berghaus products of late - their shoes with man-made uppers just fall apart (Explorers) and the far better suede alternative (Expeditors) seem to be no longer available. My explorers were at the tip after 4 months dog-walking, not mountaineering; I still use my expeditors. I'm a size 9, Berghaus, if you're reading this! Most modern Berghaus jackets and pants have the nastiest zip-pulls on the market, bar none; forget about branded items that spell quality, you are going to tug on a bit of string on your £80+ "Fasthikes"!!! Some customer reviews claim they received a heavier version by mistake, but I did get the thin, unlined version as advertised. They are light, comfy, fit well...and bobble like mad after only one week! Most of the Helly Hansen range of pants both look and feel better quality, and are pretty tough, unlike my Fasthikes. I have four pairs and they're quite good...just don't buy all the mediums, cos I'm a medium! One more thing. Do pants this thin really need vents that look rediculous when opened? Do away with those two pointless zippers and Berghause could make them cheaper. Just a thought. These are being used nearly every other day for all manner of walking, housework/DIY, even mountain biking! They are stretchy, lots of pockets and expansion, protective against wind and the sun, and also quite stylish (slim fitting, almost like a skinny jean/cargo cross from a distance, unlike many hiking trousers that just look as such) - so they're good also for nipping into town. A great all-rounder from a British brand. These are very comfortable summer weight hiking pants, with plenty of stretch, and sufficiently roomy to accommodate long underwear when needed, without being baggy or flappy. Zipped side ventilation slots are a good idea, not so sure about the velcro ankle fastenings which tend to snag and pick up foliage. Still, love 'em.Suburb trousers. Tested recently whilst walking the West Highland Way. When washed they dry very quickly. Very lightweight, yet comfortable and reasonably warm. Will withstand light rain but not driving (horizontal) rain.Person bought them for loves them, very comfortable, easy to wear and size is spot on.
